Documentary Film on 1944-1946 deportation of Ukrainians into Polish territories

The Ukrainian Institute in London together with the London Branch of the Association of Ukrainians in GB invite you to the UK premiere screening of Roman Kryk?s Documentary film about the 'Visla Action' - the forcible deportation of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians from their villages in Ukrainian SSR into Polish territories in 1944-46. The action was aimed at destroying the centres of support for the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and their fight for independence. Thousands of Ukrainians died during the programme of expulsion, hundreds of Ukrainian Catholic and Orthodox churches were destroyed, and families were torn apart. The film will be shown in Ukrainian.
