Ukrainian Medical Association UK to hold November launch conference in London
The launch of the Ukrainian Medical Association in UK (UMAUK) is set to take place in November 2011 with an inaugural AGM and conference at the Ukrainian Institute in London.
An initiative group of Ukrainian healthcare professionals met on April 3 in London to discuss the organisational planning for the November event.
The main objectives of the new organisation will be to bring together Ukrainian medical professionals based in the UK and focus on innovations in healthcare that may be interesting for medical professionals in Ukraine. It will also provide Ukrainian medical students with information on educational opportunities and offer information to vulnerable Ukrainians in London to help them access NHS and other services.
The initiative group consists of Ukrainian healthcare professionals based in the UK and is led by Dr Dennis Ougrin MB BS MRCPsych, Kraupl Taylor Research Fellow, Institute of Psychiatry in London.
