It has been a year since Bartholomew I, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, signed the monumental tomos granting independence to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, cleaving millions of Ukrainians from the Russian Orthodox Church. The new church is making its first steps and grappling with complex issues: the transition of its parishes from the Moscow Patriarchate to the new church, building ecumenical dialogue and dealing with the boycott of its parishes in the area of Donbas and Crimea under Moscow’s control.
Archbishop Yevstratiy Zoria will be answering these and other questions. He is in charge of external relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and a graduate of Kyiv Theological Academy. The event will be moderated by Ursula Woolley, a Trustee of Ukrainian Institute London.
This event will be held in Ukrainian and English.
