Oksana Lyniv has made history on a number of occasions. In 2021, she became the first woman to conduct at Germany’s celebrated Bayreuth Festival, and the first woman to conduct the Orchestre de la Swiss Romande at the UN anniversary concert in Geneva. In 2022, she will become the first female chief conductor of an Italian opera orchestra when she joins the Teatro Comunale di Bologna as the General Music Director. A native of Brody, western Ukraine, Lyniv is a founder and artistic director of LvivMozArt International Music Festival, and a founder, conductor and artistic director of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine/YsOU - the first and only youth orchestra in Ukraine that unites talented young people from all over the country.

 

Ukrainian Institute London invites you to meet Oksana Lyniv in person during her stay in London as a guest conductor at the Royal Opera House and learn more about her extraordinary career in classical music.

Oksana Lyniv

Oksana Lyniv is an internationally acclaimed conductor and the founder of several celebrated festivals and orchestras. As a guest conductor, she works with numerous leading orchestras worldwide and the renowned opera houses in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Estonia, Hungary, Romania, Japan and Ukraine, such as the Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Staatskapelle Berlin, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and others. She has won numerous Ukrainian and international awards, including the Conductor of the Year award at Germany’s prestigious Oper! Awards. Parallel to her international career, Oksana Lyniv is committed to the development of classical music in Ukraine, playing an important role in championing a wide range of cultural projects in the country, including founding the LvivMozArt International Music Festival and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine/YsOU.
