Join us for our summer get-together at the Freud museum's stunning garden in Hampstead! We will be enjoying...

  • Ukrainian delicacies prepared by award-winning Ukrainian chef Olia Hercules. The menu will include Odesan vegetable caviar, kanapky, salo, grilled courgette and homemade Ukrainian rye bread. Olia Hercules will also tell us about her work and activism in support of Ukraine.
  • Musical performance by Ukrainian composer and violinist Natalia Tsupryk. Natalia’s compositions combine elements of modern classical and Ukrainian folk.
  • Book sale of Ukrainian cookbooks by izhakultura and Olia Hercules.
  • Charity auction of a range of special lots from Ukraine.
  • Ukrainian coffee speciality the 'Flat Red' brewed by Coffee in Action.
  • Ukrainian wines sourced by Anatolii Pavlovskyi. 

Ticket price includes food, two glasses of wine and a donation to the Ukrainian Institute London. Children under 12 go free.

Olia Hercules

Olia Hercules is an author, chef and activist who writes cookbooks and teaches for a living. She has written four books, her first one, Mamushka, won the Observer’s Rising Star in Food Award and the prestigious Fortnum and Mason Award for best debut cookbook. She then wrote Summer KitchensKaukasis, and Home Food. Olia is co-founder of #CookforUkraine, a global initiative to raise funds for those affected by the war in Ukraine which raised over £2.2 million. Olia’s awards include 50 Best (Champions of Change), the OFM Special Award for #CookforUkraine, and she was also included in Vogue UK’s list of top most influential women in 2022.

Natalia Tsupryk 

Natalia Tsupryk is a Ukrainian composer and violinist. Her compositions combine elements of modern classical and Ukrainian folk. Natalia has scored award-winning films across fiction, documentary, and animation, that have screened internationally. Her latest scoring job was a BBC TWO documentary Scandalous: Phone Hacking on Trial - featuring Hugh Grant, Sienna Miller, and others. Since 2017 Natalia has been collaborating with the Kyiv National Academic Molodyy Theatre scoring several plays, including The Master Builder and Ostriv Lyubovi. As a violinist, Natalia performed all around the world, both as a soloist and a member of chamber groups and orchestras in venues such as Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, ORF RadioKulturhaus, Synchron Stage Vienna, and the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. She has also worked as a session violinist and violist with composers Lorne Balfe, Oli Julian, Jessica Jones, Alex Baranowski, and many others, including projects like The Wheel of Time (2021-), Dopesick (2021-), The Tinder Swindler (2022).

Vadym Granovskiy

Vadym Granovskiy is Ukrainian coffee entrepreneur, Cezve/Ibrik Championship winner and World Cezve/Ibrik Championship finalist, TEDx speaker and founder of award winning Coffee in Action.

Vadym will be serving Flat Reds for all guests as his donation to our fundraiser! The Flat Red is a symbolic signature coffee from Ukraine.

Combining espresso and pomegranate juice to create a wonderful symphony of flavours, the Flat Red became a unique gastronomic experience to represent Ukrainian hospitality, creativity and craftsmanship.

Vadym and the Flat Red continue travelling through pages and countries, as featured in Perfect Daily Grind, Tasting Table, GQ and Atlas Obscura.
