Between May 2022 and May 2024, the Ukrainian Institute London offered free English classes to over 1,000 displaced Ukrainians. After two incredibly rewarding years, we have brought our classes to an end, and we are tremendously grateful to our managers, teachers, volunteers and sponsors for making our classes possible.
Our telegram channel for students remains active, and we will continue to share updates about English learning opportunities and Ukrainian community events in London moving forward.

More about UIL’s English classes 2022–24
We were honoured to work in partnership with British Land and West London Welcome to provide free classes to over 1,000 displaced Ukrainians since 2022.
Almost all of our students were women, very often with children, representing the most vulnerable parts of the Ukrainian displaced population.
We were proud to form a mutually supportive community at our school. Ten of our English teachers and our English School Manager were themselves displaced from Ukraine due to Russia’s full-scale invasion, and it was an honour to have them on our team.
