The Ukrainian Institute London is delighted to invite you to this talk by Svitlana Zalishchuk, newly elected Ukrainian MP. Ms Zalishchuk will talk about how the results of October’s parliamentary elections may now impact Ukrainian politics. Will the new faces be able to implement new rules in the country? What are the priorities of Ukraine’s new parliament? Is there a political scenario be for the developments in eastern Ukraine?

Svitlana Zalishchuk

Svitlana Zalishchuk is a newly elected member of the parliament of Ukraine, nominated by the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Party. Prior to becoming an MP, Svitlana was a journalist, activist, and initiator of a number of influential civil society campaigns in Ukraine. She served as Executive Director of Centre UA, a Kyiv-based non-governmental organization. Svitlana is a founder of CHESNO (Fair) and also co-founder of the Reanimation Package of Reforms – a platform that unites more than 50 NGOs promoting democratic reforms in Ukraine. Svitlana used to work as a TV journalist and has experience working in the Government and Administration of the President. Svitlana was a renowned activist in the EuroMaidan movement in Ukraine, in particular coordinating the social network platforms devoted to Euromaidan.
