A unique dining experience with the world’s foremost historian of Ukraine, Professor Serhii Plokhy and award-winning chef and activist Olia Hercules.

All funds raised will go towards expanding the work of Ukrainian Institute London, an independent charity dedicated to championing Ukrainian culture and shaping the conversation about Ukraine in the UK and beyond

The three-course dinner will be held at the acclaimed Zetter Townhouse, Clerkenwell. Dinner conversation under Chatham House Rule.

The dinner will be preceded by a public talk with Serhii Plokhy and Olia Hercules at St James Church, Clerkenwell (complimentary ticket for all dinner guests).

Serhii Plokhy

Serhii Plokhy is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Gates of Europe and Chernobyl: History of a Tragedy, which won the Baillie Gifford Prize. His many acclaimed books, including Nuclear Folly, Atoms and Ashes and The Last Empire, have been translated into over a dozen languages. He is Professor of History at Harvard University where he also serves as Director of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute.

Olia Hercules

Olia Hercules is an author, chef and activist who writes cookbooks and teaches for a living.  She has written four books, her first one, Mamushka, won the Observer’s Rising Star in Food Award and the prestigious Fortnum and Mason Award for best debut cookbook. She then wrote Summer Kitchens, Kaukasis, and Home Food.  Olia is co-founder of #CookforUkraine, a global initiative to raise funds for those affected by the war in Ukraine which raised over £1.8 million. Olia’s awards include 50 Best (Champions of Change), the OFM Special Award for #CookforUkraine, and she was also included in Vogue UK’s list of top most influential women in 2022.
