The Ukrainian east is a region known as Donbas, and since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine in 2014, it has been synonymous with conflict. With the escalation of that war in 2022, its cities have become familiar to us through the images and reports of brutal devastation.

Victoria excavates a rich, multicultural history of this area, and highlights the lives and voices of local people, who present a rich, revelatory and intensely personal view of a stunning region. It is a real testament to people’s tenacity, perseverance and love for the place they are from.

Ticket price includes a soft drink and tasty nibbles.
