Svitlana Khutka
Dr. Svitlana Khutka is Associate Professor of Department of Sociology at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (Ukraine); and the Associate Researcher at the Laboratory for Comparative Social Studies (Higher School of Economics, Russia). She was a Postdoctoral Carnegie Fellow at the University of Washington (Seattle) and Visiting Carnegie Scholar at the University of California (Berkeley). Her research focuses on several issues: a comparative study of values, civic political engagement, subjective well-being/happiness and inequality in transition countries; national identity (re)construction in Ukraine before/after the collapse of the USSR. For a study of post-socialist transformations in Ukraine she was recognized in 2010 as “The Best Young Sociologist of Ukraine”.
