Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Ukrainian Institute London as our Public Relations and Growth Manager. You will be the driving force behind UIL’s PR and communications, and work closely with the Director to fuel our organisational growth. Your role will involve broadening and engaging UIL audiences, igniting a passion for Ukrainian culture, and fostering a deeper understanding of Ukraine in the UK and beyond. This position is created to address our organisational growth and expansion of activities. The role offers personal development opportunities, including support to progressively take the lead on larger projects.

About this role

As UIL’s Public Relations and Growth Manager you will play a key part in shaping UIL’s presence and impact by

– developing and implementing UIL’s PR and communications strategy in order to capture attention and inspire engagement,

– taking charge of our digital presence, running our social media channels, creating tailored newsletters, and keeping our website fresh and informative,

– growing our audiences both online and offline to cultivate meaningful connections,

– assisting the Director in nurturing partnerships with key cultural and educational organisations to widen the reach of UIL,

– supporting the Director in developing and implementing a robust fundraising strategy, unlocking new opportunities for growth through grants and fundraising activity.


Potential growth within the role:

– taking the lead on curating and managing larger projects,

– contributing to the creative development of the programme of events,

– contributing to the ongoing shaping of UIL’s vision and strategy.


About you

Essential:

– exceptional verbal and written communication skills to craft inspiring narratives about our work,

– native or near-native command of English,

– shared values with UIL, and willingness to immerse yourself in the fast-changing cultural and political landscape of Ukraine,

– readiness to dive deep into the social media landscape in order to engage and expand our audiences and amplify our messages,

– excellent organisational and time management skills,

– flexibility, creativity and adaptability to fast-paced environments, 

– proven ability to work independently, and also closely with colleagues in a small team, 

– willingness to cultivate relationships with new partners (organisations and individuals) in order to fundraise and advance UIL’s mission.


Desirable:

– background in the field of PR and/or communications,

– experience in using a range of software to create and report on social media campaigns,

– experience in successful fundraising, cultivating support and driving impactful change,

– ability to read and speak Ukrainian, or an eagerness to learn and refine your language skills. 


Terms

– This position is available as either full-time or part-time. Please indicate your preference and availability.

– The exact start date is negotiable and will depend on the availability of the selected candidate.

– Hours are flexible, with a hybrid in-person and online work arrangement.

– Some evening work for events is required in this role (typically averaging one evening per week).

– The selected candidate must have the legal right to work in the UK.
